Seasonale Uses:
Seasonale has been approved by the FDA to prevent pregnancy and limit periods to only four times per year.
Seasonale Directions:
Once you receive your Seasonale prescription, you will take a pink pill the first Sunday after your regular menstrual cycle begins. If it begins on a Sunday, take the pill that day. You will then take 84 pink pills, once a day. Once all the pink pills are gone, take a white pill each day for seven days. The white pills are inactive, so you will have menstrual bleeding in that week.
Seasonale Side Effects:
There are mild and serious side effects associated with Seasonale. Serious effects include blood clots, heart attack, and stroke. If you smoke cigarettes while using Seasonale, you have much higher risk of these problems, as well as if you are over 35. Taking Seasonale will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS.
Seasonale Warnings:
The FDA has placed Seasonale in pregnancy category X, which means that the medication is known to be harmful to unborn children. Changes in hormone levels during pregnancy can cause birth defects. Never take Seasonale if you are pregnant or thing you may be pregnant.
Seasonale Drug Interactions:
Sexually transmitted diseases can still be spread while taking Seasonale. You have to use a condom to prevent the spread of diseases like AIDS and HIV. Do not smoke cigarettes while taking Seasonale. This raises your chances of experiencing a heart attack, stroke, or blood clots.
Seasonale Missed Dose:
If while taking Seasonale you forget to take a dose, take the medication as soon as you remember. Your next dose should then be taken at its regularly scheduled time. You can take more than one pill in a day using this plan. If you forgot two doses, take both when you remember.You may also take three pills at your next scheduled dose, or take two pills each at your next two scheduled doses. You are more likely to ovulate, so you should take extra precautions and use another form of birth control for seven days. If you forgot three doses, you must ignore the pills you missed and pick up on the dose for the current day. You might have a period during the next week. You should then continue to use another form of birth control until you have taken seven pills.
Seasonale Storage:
Seasonale should not be exposed to sunlight or moisture. Make sure it?s not accessible to children.
